Bones

Today Team 5 have been learning all about bones and naming them. We went on a bone hunt and learnt all the different names for the bones in the body. We then listened to a song which helped us learn the scientific names of the bones.

Enjoy 🙂

Team 5’s tale of Osiris and Isis

Team 5 have been making their own musical about Osiris and Isis. We had 3 actors who were Isis, Osiris and Seth. Isis and Osiris were in love but the cruel, scheming Seth plotted to steal Osiris’ throne. We used recorders, drums, cowbells, scrapers, maracas and xylophones to retell the story of Osiris and Isis.

Enjoy our amazing musical extravaganza!

Adjective Tag Clouds

Today in our English lesson we have been making Tag Clouds.

We came up with different adjectives to describe Isis who is an Egyptian goddess and a character from the legend ‘The Quarrell between Horus and Seth’. We then typed these adjectives into Tag Cloud.

Here are some of our amazing Tag Clouds!

Magnetic game

We have had so much fun in science this week making magnetic board games!

We have learnt all about magnetic forces and how magnets work so today we were able to show what we had learnt by making a game.

Our games work by the magnet attracting the metal paper clip and pulling it.

Rainforest Musical

This week Team 5 have been focusing on sounds of the rainforest! We plotted a route along the Amazon River and what sounds we might hear along the way. We decided we would hear rain dripping, wood cutters, trees crashing, animals reacting, rain pouring and tribes people. We then used a variety of instruments to create our own musical with our very own conductor, Miss Walton!

We hope you enjoy watching our musical we much as we enjoyed creating it!

Rainforest masks

Team 5 have been very busy creating their own rainforest masks! The children looked at a range of masks from rainforests around the world then sketched out their own. They used a range of materials to complete their design.

Amazon dancing!

We’ve been busy this half term with our new IPC topic: Saving the World! We have been learning all about the Amazon Rainforest.

This week we have been working with Sarah who comes in to teach us dance. She has kindly been able to link the dancing to our rainforest topic!

We had to pose like a butterfly, monkey, parrot, snake, worm and lots of other rainforest animals.

We then worked in a small group and made connecting balances for each of the animals.

We created a low level balance like a worm.

Rocks

This half term Team 5 have been learning all about rocks!

We have found out there are 3 different types of rocks; sedimentary, igneous, metamorphic.

Today we looked at the different properties of rocks, such as is the rock permeable, durable, hard or soft and what is it density?

We enjoyed the quiz we played so much we wanted it on our school blog to play at home!
